Three men accused by the militant group Al-Shabaab of spying for Kenya and affiliated with the Somali government were executed Saturday in Lower Jubba.

The three men identified as Muse Hussein Siayd (31), Hussein Mohamed Arsal (20) and Falir Yarow Ali (75) faced the firing squad Saturday in Kamsuma town in Lower Jubba region.
The men had earlier been sentenced by an Al-Shabaab court. The group does not normally allow defence from such suspects.
Siyad is reported to have been a soldier trained by the US and was arrested in an area between Afgooye and Wanlaweyn town while Arsal was accused of being a member Jubbaland state government.
He was arrested by the group in Barsanguni while the third one, Ali was found guilty of spying for the Kenyan government.
The execution of the three comes barely two weeks after a similar case in Sablale in Lower Shabelle region by the militant group.
The group executed four men for working with the Somali government.
